Katusha by Wayne Van Sant

Katusha, written and drawn by Wayne Vansant, www.freebooks.it, 16.50Euros, 178 pages.

Wayne is an old friend who drew The 'Nam comic for Marvel and has many other historically accurate war comics to his credit. They include the Heritage series of Civil War titles, Battron, and stories of World War II and Korea.

Katusha is the story of the German attack on the Ukraine during World War II. The difference is that the story is told from the viewpoint of a young Ukranian girl who fights for herself and her country.

Although this volume is in Italian, the story can be understood by the drawings. There is an American edition under discussion, but contracts are still pending.

The art is fantastic and the story is historically accurate. Check out the website and if possible, order a copy of this interesting work.
