As Tears Go Bye

In 1965, a blonde singer was introduced by Brian Epstein on the "hulabaloo" music show in the US. Marianne Faithfull made a strong impression on me and most of my male friends.

Over the years, time has changed her looks, made her voice more gravelly, and she evolved into punk rock and some of the avant garde genres.

Time didn't matter, looks didn't matter and her song choices didn't matter; she would always be the girl sitting on the platform and singing this song for the first time.

She produced some of the best British soft folk in her three albums for London Records and was one of Mick Jagger's many girlfriends. I still have the original lps and some of her later work as well.

Today, I am saying goodbye to another of the musical legends that were part of the driving force of the 1960s and the British Invasion.

Farewell Marianne, and just so you know. my tears are going by.
