At the age of 36, Marilyn Monroe was found dead in her Los Angeles home on today's date in 1962. While her death was ruled to be "acute barbiturate poisoning," subsequent investigations/theories have suggested she may have been murdered.
It is still being debated if this was part of a conspiracy that included the assassinations of John and Robert Kennedy. I doubt if the truth will ever be known.
Time to listen to the original version of Elton John's "Candle in the Wind".
