There are few things you can count on anymore, and the older I get the fewer they become. It seems like summer starts after the first day of spring. Death and taxes are still certain; college football will be on time; and the annual release of LRH's WRITERS OF THE FUTURE will have some exciting new writers, illustrators and tips from professionals.

Sadly, this will be the last volume edited by the late David Farland. He will be greatly missed as an editor and creator. Dave won the competition in 1987 and met him shortly thereafter.

This volume starts off with a terrific cover by Bob Eggleton and features sixteen full color illustrations for the stories. The artists will definitely be names you will see in the future.

The stories begin with “Agatha’s Monster” by Azure Arther which tells us what happens when a Hunter ends up being best friends with a "monster".  

Do you remember how tough elementary school was? “The Squid Is My Brother” by Mike Jack Stoumbos tells us his take on it.

“Tsuu, Tsuu, Kasva Suuremasse” by Rebecca E. Treasure is a story of the Napoleonic War and a brave attempy by Emily to save her family.

Psychic poker, genetic engineering, trying to save a dying planet, memory transfer, and a Neanderthal shaman are some of the other ideas presented in other enjoyable tales.

Other stories by LRH, Frank Herbert, and David Farland round out this amazing anthology. that has something for everyone.
